Current Candidates

The British Columbia Ambassador Program is proud to introduce our 2025 Candidates!

Candidate #1 Isabel Hinton of West Kelowna

Isabel is currently attending Mount Boucherie Secondary School in West Kelowna. Passionate about education, Isabel puts great commitment into both her current and future academic studies. Currently, she works to be very involved in her school community, being an active member of numerous academic clubs including the Sustainability Club, and Debate Club. Looking to the future, Isabel plans to pursue higher education, with hopes of pursuing a Bachelor of Arts as a first step towards law school. Throughout the past few years Isabel has been dedicated to community service, volunteering both as a camp counselor at a local non-profit summer camp for three consecutive summers, and at Kelowna General Hospital as a foundation volunteer for the past two years. Isabel enjoys staying active, and some of her hobbies include skiing, hiking, and exploring the breathtaking Okanagan Valley. She joined British Columbia Ambassador Candidacy in hopes of growing in her communication, as well as to learn more about the beautiful province she calls home. Isabel is immensely grateful for the opportunity to continue to volunteer and meet new people as a candidate. She thanks both her home city committee and the BCAP society for this opportunity, and wishes her fellow candidates all of the best in their futures.

Candidate #2 – Jenae Weir of Cowichan Lake

Jenae is entering her third year of post-secondary education at the University of Victoria this coming fall. Her goals are to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and work with local youth in Cowichan Lake before heading to Law school where she plans to specialize in Human Rights Law. Throughout the school year, Jenae spends much of her time playing volleyball, and coaching and playing hockey through the Captial Region Female Minor Hockey Association. When she’s not on the ice, or huddled over a mountain of textbooks, you can also find Jenae exploring Victoria with her friends, hitting up the local thrift stores in hopes of finding late 90s fashion. Although living in the capital city has been a highlight for Jenae, she could not be happier to call Cowichan Lake her home. During her summers back at the lake, Jenae works full-time for the Town of Lake Cowichan at Lakeview Park Campground and spends her days off outside, soaking up the sun, seeing familiar faces wherever she goes. Jenae is eternally grateful
to have grown up in such a supportive community, and was thrilled her BC Ambassador candidacy would give her another opportunity to share all the Cowichan Lake has to offer with
others. Jenae would like to extend the biggest thank you to all those involved in the Cowichan Lake Ambassador Program and British Columbia Ambassador Program for making this next chapter in her life possible, and to the other candidates she wishes good luck!

Candidate #3 – Zephyr Pickell of Oliver

My name is Zephyr, and I am an 18-year-old high school student living in the Okanagan. At school, I’m on the soccer and ultimate frisbee teams, and at lunch I play games of Magic: the Gathering with my friends. Swimming, being outdoors, and listening to music are some of my favourite things to do at home. The bands I enjoy are Fleetwood Mac, Parov Stelar, and Dave Matthews Band, but I listen to all sorts of music. I also appreciate a good dad joke. I was named Oliver Ambassador in 2022 and had a wonderful time during my reign. The ambassador program was a once-in-a-lifetime experience…or so I thought. I am excited for the BC Ambassador Program to relive the good times I had in my local ambassador program. Next September, I will attend Capilano University in the hopes of becoming a movie director.

Candidate #4 – Rannde Wyatt of Trail

Born and raised in Trail, Rannde is the youngest of three girls. Growing up, she spent her summers camping on a boat, which sparked her passion for the water! After being certified in 2021 as an Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver, Rannde spends her days off breathing underwater with her dad! She feels fearless after diving with sharks, in underwater caves, in negative-degree water, and in total darkness! Currently enrolled in Selkirk College, Rannde hopes to carry her education to BCIT and complete the X-ray technician program. Besides diving in her free time, Rannde loves detail-oriented tasks, such as sewing, painting her nails, and crafting miniature buildings, which she displays in her room. Always looking for ways to step out of her comfort zone, she’s first in line for karaoke, even though she can’t sing. Rannde loves fashion and uses sewing to make her own style, even sewing her dress for the Trail Ambassadors Programme, where she was crowned Miss Trail 2022. Rannde’s enthusiasm for public speaking, meeting new people, and volunteerism drew her to the BC Ambassador Program. She is grateful for the support from her family, friends, community, and especially her sponsor, Re/Max All Pro Realty. Rannde wishes all the best to her fellow candidates!
